Modern Warfare 2 is as Good as Modern Warfare 2 Should Be

I have to take a quick detour from the soccer news to give you an update on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, especially since there have been no games for awhile now. Either way, get Modern Warfare 2 at all costs, or atleast try it somehow. You won't regret it.

The game was great all around, but as expected, the multiplayer is the heart and soul of the game. The strategic possiblities were wild and the pace was just right.

You can read my complete review of the game here.

Besiktas Into 3rd Place in Turkcell Super Lig

Trabzonspor welcomed Besiktas in Week 12 of the Turkcell Super Lig. The game started in Trabzonspor's control and stayed that way. Umut Bulut peppered Hakan Arikan with shot after shot, only for Hakan to rise to the challenge each time. To Trabzonspor's disappointment, the game would go into halftime in a goalless draw.

Besiktas started the second half with two substitutes and were quickly rewarded. Besiktas were playing better and scored the opening goal early in the second half. Trabzonspor eventually regained control of the match and put constant pressure on the Besiktas. The effort paid off and gave them plenty of opportunities, except for Hakan Arikan to knock each one down and keep Besiktas in the game.

A second goal in added time for Besiktas would end all Trabzon hopes and give them the 3 points.

Galatasaray Advance to Round of 32

Group F Nears Conclusion with One Team Already Qualified
Having scored 8 goals in their first 3 matches, Galatasaray continued their piercing offensive displays with a 3-0 win in Romania at Dinamo Bucuresti.

Galatasaray controlled the game very well from the first whistle. They were showing superiority over their opponents with early chances and in the 22nd minute the score-line began to show it as well. After a poor clearance by the Dinamo Bucuresti defense, Harry Kewell picked up the ball with incredible grace and slotted a right footed shot past the goalkeeper giving Galatasaray a 1-0 lead.

Galatasaray's celebrations would continue as Nonda powered a Sabri Sarioglu cross, unmarked into the bottom right corner in the 24th minute. Goalkeeper Dolha's efforts to block the header came to no avail as the ball would still get past him.

Galatasaray Regain Momentum as Fenerbahce Stumble - Turkish Super Lig Week 11

Galatasaray 2 – 0 Sivasspor
After being upset in the Turkish Super Lig by city rivals Fenerbahce last week, Galatasaray had some ground to make up. Returning to the Ali Sami Yen stadium against a poor performing Sivasspor was expected to be an easy win. Though the injury of starting striker Milan Baros along with the suspension of in-form Abdul Kader Keita and Elano Blumer showed hope for Sivasspor.

The joy started early for Galatasaray in Week 11 of the Turkish Super Lig as Shabani Nonda opened the scoring in the 11th minute following a slick heel pass by Baris Ozbek. Nonda was left one-on-one with Sivasspor goalkeeper, Michael Petkovic, and made no mistakes, slotting it neatly around the keeper.

Petkovic was called for holding the ball in is hands for too long in the 45th+1st minute, giving Galatasaray a freekick from the edge of the area. Harry Kewell blasted it into the top of the netting giving Petkovic no chance and giving Galatasaray a 2-0 lead in the 11th Week of the Turkish Super Lig.

Galatasaray created a few more dangerous opportunities to score but were unable to increase the lead. Sivasspor showed no signs of threat as Galatasaray cruised on to take the victory.
