Galatasaray 3 - 2 Genclerbirligi

3-2 was the final score at the Ali Sami Yen. Galatasaray played a single net soccer game pretty much the entire match, even though they did concede 2 goals. At half-time the score was 2-1 Galatasray. Genclerbirligi opened the scoreline with a 3rd minute goal from Kerem which was deflected in off Song. It only took Galatasaray a few minutes to regain control as they were playing the better soccer the entire game. In the 12th minute, Mehmet Topal evened the scoreline that deflected in off Ayhan Tuna. 30th minute, the lead came with Arda's shot being saved by Gokhan but Serkan was there to pounce on the ball to take the lead.

The second half was just abusive. The game was over before the 60th minute with Lincoln scoring a goal in the 50th minute which deflected in off Tuna yet again. After that goal, Genclerbirligi had no hope. Galatasaray had complete control as Genclerbirligi could only look on hoping to get a touch on the ball. Galatasaray's possesion streaks were minutes at a time. Then in the dieing minutes Tuna scores in the 93rd minute to grab a consolation goal to make it 3-2.

On another quick note, the stadium was half empty. I don't know why as I missed the pre-game and all, but most of the stadium is empty. It may be because of the poor form that Galatasaray has been playing soccer with, or maybe even the fact that people forgot that they can come watch the games as this is their first unbanned match at Ali Sami Yen this season in the Turkish soccer league, Turkcell Super Lig.

Galatasaray 2 - 3 Helsingborg

I got to watch the last 20 minutes of the Galatasaray - Helsingborg game and it sucked ass. Galatasaray played way better soccer and should have easily taken the game. In the 20 minutes that I watched, Helsingborg had only 2 attacks and scored 1 of them to make the game 3-1. We need someone that can score. We had every chance possible to win this even after going down 3-1. Nonda scored a nice goal in the 91. minute but it wasn't enough. After that we had a chance to tie it still but couldn't take it. Then Servet's smart ass fouls Tamboura and he sits on the floor like he's injured when he obviously wasn't, considering the fact that he was chatting with Servet while on the floor seconds before.

Right now I'm pissed. They should have had the 3 points from this game. Now they are at 0 points and Helsingborg is a 4 in first place. If the Austrian Wien - Bordeaux soccer match stays the way it is (1-0) than we still have a chance at first place. It's a small chance that relies completely on the results of the other teams, but still a chance non-the-less. If Bordeaux wins, they'll be at 6 points and out of reach of us with only 2 games remaining.

I don't know. Galatasaray has been playing some horrible soccer lately. Well, today wasn't bad, atleast from what I watched, but they can't score if their lives depended on it. Other than that, Servet needs to be gotten rid of. He was at fault with the second goal, possibly an own goal, as well as the third goal. On the third goal he missed an easy slide tackle which left Anderson with an easy one-on-one with Aykut. The ball went under his leg.....what kind of defender is that. I would rather have them play with 10 men than have Servet on the squad.

Lucky

Guess theres a first time for everything. Can't believe it, Galatasaray actually had a referee's mistake benefit them. If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's the 90th minute goal that Servet scored against Gaziantepspor to tie the game 1-1 and keep Galatasaray in first place soccer team in the Turkcell Super Lig (Turkish soccer league). The goal was simply offside. It was not only offside from the initial shot, but it
was also offside from the follow-up shot by Nonda. But hey, we only lose 2 points instead of 3, in soccer that 1 point can make you the champion in soccer, so what am I complaining about?

They sucked ass, that's what. They had plenty of opportunities to tie the game and even take the lead, but they couldn't score. Then on the other hand, Gaziantepspor's goal bounced off the post and onto Aykut's foot and went in....we can see which team has the luck. But for the majority of the game, they played bad soccer, until the end, when they finally came to life. But hey, this is Turkish soccer, what more can you expect?

Recent Galatasaray Soccer Form

Galatasaray 0 - 0 Ankaraspor
Bordeauz 2 - 1 Galatasaray
Denizlispor 1 - 2 Galatasaray
Galatasaray 2 - 1 Denizlispor
Gaziantepspor 1 -1 Galatasaray

With those results, Galatasaray's soccer record is 2-2-2. Not great form for a soccer team who is leading the Turkcell Super Lig. What's to blame though? Is it Erek Gerets? Is it the team? The morale? The soccer ball itself? Or just plain old fatigue and tiredness from playing 5 games in 3 weeks? You tell me.

Galatasaray 4 - 0 Caykur Rizespor
Slaven 1 - 2 Galatasaray
Bursaspor 0 - 1 Galatasaray
Galatasaray 1 - 0 Ankaragucu

4-0-0. The start of this soccer season. A good start to the season, and only conceding a single goal, coming from the UEFA Cup 2nd qualifying round. It was a good start, but not the best. In the first 3 weeks of the Turkish soccer season they were scoring on average 2 goals per game, but look at the scores. 3 out of 4 of them were won by a single goal. Is it a surprise that now when our opponents begin to score on us that were no longer winning the games? And now were relying on late goals to get us points.....again....

What's the cause of it? Everyone has their own opinion. But the fact of the matter is that the multiple simultaneous injuries are having their effects on the soccer team. This shouldn't be though. We are relying to heavily on specific players. The bench should be more than skilled and talented enough to come in for their position. They should be good enough to make the starting 11. Whatever they do, they need to get back on a winning streak if they want to continue to play soccer in the UEFA Cup. There's no more time, this was the last game they could afford to give up. Sivasspor is tied for first in the league, we lost our 1st game in the UEFA Cup, and our next game is this Thursday. It's now or never. Return to the elite of european soccer......return.
